Family Owned & Operated Since 1979
The Milanville General Store and Post Office sits along the idyllic Delaware River in the small enclave of Milanville, PA. Like the general stores that served communities at the turn of the century, the Milanville General Store still maintains a small town feel and community connection. Untouched by major highways and development, it is the business and social center of the Milanville Historic District, which has been entered on the National Register of Historic Places.
In September of 1993 a ceremony took place during which the Upper Delaware Heritage Alliance presented a bronze plaque that was affixed to the building to recognize its historic integrity. The Alliance presented their Register of Old Houses Certificate at the same time.
All of the Upper Delaware's villages maintain a sense of the past, a strong visual link with the nineteenth century and early twentieth century, the valley's most prosperous period. For Milanville, this is especially true. Unlike most of the other communities, Milanville has not been impacted by a major highway. Milanville's General Store, the village's social center, retains not only its traditional function but also its architectural integrity. Come on by to check out a piece of history!
